  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, one egg, melted butter, pumpkin puree, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan and pour the batter evenly into it.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together softened cream cheese, two eggs, remaining pumpkin puree, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves until creamy. Pour over the cake batter.
  4. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until set; the center should be slightly gooey.
  5. Allow the cake to cool before whipping up the frosting by beating together softened cream cheese, unsalted butter, brown sugar, powdered sugar, and vanilla until fluffy.
  6. Frost the cooled cake generously and serve.
