Description

If you’re craving a delightful treat that’s perfect for sharing, look no further than Homemade Toffee. This classic candy combines crunchy toffee with smooth chocolate and nutty pecans, creating a flavor that is simply irresistible. Surprisingly easy to make, this homemade confection is ideal for special occasions or cozy evenings in. Once you try it, you’ll be tempted to whip up batch after batch!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups unsalted butter (454 g)
  • 2 cups granulated sugar (400 g)
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (336 g)
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans (109 g)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your baking sheet by lining a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. In a medium heavy-bottom saucepan over medium heat, combine butter and sugar. Stir consistently until the mixture reaches 285°F (140°C) on a candy thermometer, about 35-45 minutes.
  3. Once it reaches a dark amber color, pour the mixture onto the lined baking sheet.
  4. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the hot toffee and let them soften for 1-2 minutes before spreading into an even layer.
  5. Sprinkle the finely chopped pecans over the melted chocolate and gently press them in.
  6. Allow the toffee to set at room temperature for about an hour.
  7. Once set, break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
