  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 pastry for double pie crust
  • 23 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F and line a 9-inch pie plate with the bottom crust.
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and lemon juice until evenly coated.
  3. Spoon the apple mixture into the prepared pie plate, dot with butter pieces, and cover with the second crust.
  4. Seal edges by crimping and cut slits in the top crust for steam release.
