  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup hot coffee
  • 2 cups shredded phyllo dough (kataifi)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup pistachio cream
  • 4 oz milk or semi-sweet chocolate bar
  • ½ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease your baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Mix in egg, vanilla extract, milk, and vegetable oil until combined.
  4. Slowly add hot coffee and stir until smooth.
  5. Pour batter into the pan and bake for approximately 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely.
  6. Toast chopped kataifi with butter in a pan until golden; mix with pistachio cream.
  7. For ganache: Combine chopped chocolate and heavy cream in a bowl; microwave for about 45 seconds, then whisk until smooth.
  8. Assemble by spreading the kataifi mixture over the cooled cake and pouring ganache on top.
