  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter – room temperature
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs – room temperature
  • 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • 8 oz. brick-style cream cheese – room temperature
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Prepare the topping: Mix flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and melted butter until crumbly.
  3. Prepare the apples: Toss diced apples with brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  4. Combine dry ingredients: Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  5. Cream together wet ingredients: Beat room-temperature butter and sugar until fluffy, adding eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract and milk.
  6. Fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture, then gently mix in apples.
